In the judicial system there is a hierarchy, and regarding the former DPM Grubi matter, there is a higher public prosecutor, who follows the specific cases, as well as a Prosecutor General, Council of Public Prosecutors President Bashkim Besimi said on Wednesday regarding Minister of Justice Filkov’s calls for accountability.
Asked how frequent the practice of prosecutors issuing a house arrest measure against a person wanted on an international warrant was and whether that was in violation of certain rules and norms, Besimi said that that was the stand of the Prosecutor’s Office, which had made the decision, adding that he, as Council President, couldn’t say anything in relation to that.
Also regarding Filkov, he stated that though it was the Minister’s position, he believed that such calling out was not all right and that each case should be looked at individually.
