The Criminal Court has rejected the appeals and confirmed the detention measures against the now former head of the Skopje-based Komunalna Higiena (Communal Hygiene) PE’s, Sabahudin Rustemi, and Aki Saiti, who heads the Waste Management Sector.
The 30-day detention measure proposal for both was accepted by the Court on 28 October, when it cited there was a danger of influencing witnesses and possibility of repeating the act. Rustemi and Saiti are charged with endangering the environment and nature with waste (Article 230 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code).
