During a routine control at the Skopje airport, the Customs Administration has seized 184 bonds worth 92 million dollars, in four folders.
The folders were in a black handbag of a citizen of Turkey that had arrived from Istanbul. The Administration employees discovered the bonds during a scanner control, but also following the additional controls and talk with the passenger. ITNERPOL and other international institutions were involved in the investigation, Customs Administration Director Stefan Bogoev said on Tuesday. The Administration handed over the bonds to the Agency for Management of Confiscated Property.
The citizen of Turkey has been charged, while the Basic Court fined him. A financial investigation has been opened to prove potential attempted fraud or money laundering.
