Dameva Slams ‘Floscule’ about 2%, VMRO-DPMNE Reiterates View on Judiciary

Fierce accusations marred Thursday’s debate, in the frames of Parliament’s Political System Committee, on the report on the Judicial Council’s work in 2023.

The body’s President, Vesna Dameva, believes that it’s not true that the level of confidence in the judiciary is at 2%. In her view, the fact that over 600,000 cases were formed and worked last year means citizens have confidence in judicial institutions.

“Repeating the same floscule every day about a low confidence level in the judiciary has a counterproductive and demotivating effect on judges,” Dameva stated.

On the other hand, ruling majority representatives said all Council members should resign because they had a lack of credibility and authority when it came to setting up a fair court system.

“There must be an overhaul, there must be re-election,” VMRO-DPMNE MP Dragan Kovacki stated.
