Deputy PM Grkovska: Draft Changes to Restrictive Measures Law Prepared

The draft changes to the Law on Restrictive Measures, which is in procedure, on whose basis US, EU and other strategic partners’ sanctions will be processed in the frames of North Macedonia’s legislation, have been prepared, Deputy PM for Good Governance Policies Slavica Grkovska said on Wednesday.

The UK will be added too as it is no longer part of the EU. As she pointed out, the goal is to enable US sanctions concerning corruption, organised crime, terrorism, and hybrid threats to be able to be applied in North Macedonia too and designated entities to face sanctions according to North Macedonia’s legislation.

According to Grkovska, it’s a very bad message to see that persons blacklisted by other countries behave in North Macedonia as if nothing has happened.
