Drakulevski, Siljanovska Davkova, and Kalajdjiev Part of Debate on Pardons Bill

At a debate on the Pardons Bill on Friday, Association for Criminal Law and Criminology President Aleksandra Gruevska Drakulevski said the key change was that the President would pardon only persons who’d been issued effective conviction, i.e. there would be no pardons in the area of criminal prosecution.

In her view, the process to pass the text should take place simultaneously with changes to the Criminal Code.

President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova stated that the trend in terms of resocialization went hand in hand with modernizing prison conditions. University professor Gordan Kalajdziev said a provision was needed to prevent so-called group pardoning.
