“There is no deal with Health Minister and VLEN member Arben Taravari”, DUI leader Ali Ahmeti said following his meeting with Albanian President Bajram Begaj on Saturday.
While returning from Sofia, Begaj, in Skopje, met also the other leaders of parties from the ethnic Albanian bloc. Answering a journalist’s question, Ahmeti stated that DUI wasn’t participating in scenarios of other coalitions, nor, as he underlined, it was being used as a spare tire.
In Skopje, the Albanian President also met Taravari himself, as well as another VLEN co-leader, Democratic Movement’s Izet Mexhiti, Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi, Deputy PM Arben Fetai, and the Secretary-General of Taravari’s Alliance for Albanians wing, Blerant Ramadani.
At the meeting, he was accompanied by his country’s Ambassador to North Macedonia, Denion Meidani. The meeting with the ethnic Albanian political factor, he said on social media, was about EU integration and NATO topics. It also focused on cooperation between Skopje and Tirana, as well as current developments in North Macedonia and the region.
