Dukovska Matter, Equitable Representation, and EU Path among Topics at Q&A Session of Parliament

At Tuesday’s Q&A session of Parliament, 1st Deputy PM Izet Mexhiti stated that the dismissal of Elizabeta Dukovska as Constitutional Court Judge meant that DUI was losing a destabilisation chance by misusing the Law on Use of Languages matter.

Also, answering a question from European Front MP Rina Ajdari, he stated that for the first time in 20 years, a cabinet had had the courage to open the Balancer issue and resolve it through an equitable representation law. The biggest achievement of the previous government, Mexhiti stated, was Serbian President Aleksandar “Vucic’s Open Balkan”.

The European Front MP also asked Minister of Social Policy, Demography, and Youth Fatmir Limani a question regarding the issue of equitable representation. The latter answered by saying that, during his brief term as deputy head of ESM, over 700 ethnic Albanians were employed, an increase from 3% to 9.5%, when it came to representation of that ethnic group within that institution.

Another VLEN cabinet member, that is, European Affairs Minister Orhan Murtezani faced a question from Ajdari, too, with the European Front MP asking him about the EU path and constitutional changes issue.

The Minister stated that the cabinet’s priority was to find a solution to unblock the road that was burdened by the previous government’s agreements. In response, however, the European Front MP stated that there had been a successful screening process following the vote on the French proposal in Parliament and that the new government was responsible for the country backsliding as far as the country’s road EU integration was concerned.
