Eight State Labor Inspectorate inspectors have been charged with unscrupulous operation within the service in relation to the 2025 Kochani fire. Six inspectors are from Kochani, one is from Skopje, and one is from Makedonski Brod.
Police suspect they failed to initiate or conduct inspection oversight procedures, failed to prevent the illegal operation of the facility, and continuously exposed employees to danger due to unverified conditions regarding safety and health at work.
According to the Interior Ministry, they thereby allowed the facility to illegally continue operating and obtain an illicit material benefit of 20,000 euros.
