DUI, too, is interested in the presidential and parliamentary elections being held simultaneously.
The party’s Vice President, Bujar Osmani, stated on Tuesday that DUI’s leadership would make the final decision, but the preliminary stand is that two election cycles in a span of three months would be too difficult for the country and cost a lot of money.
Regardless of when they are held, according to Osmani, in the last 100 days, the PM will be from the ranks of DUI. SDSM is the only party in favour of separate elections. As a result, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski called for talks to reach consensus.
SDSM leader and PM Dimitar Kovacevski didn’t give a concrete answer as to whether his party would agree. He expects consensus to be reached by working groups in Parliament.
