The only chance to pass a new Electoral Code is for VMRO-DPMNE to withdraw its demand for electronic voting for the diaspora, SDSM leader Filipche stated on Saturday. His party’s position that there should be no rushing regarding the draft Code issue and that a model should be found that leaves no room for doubt about electoral irregularities remains unchanged.
“If they withdraw the article that changes the current way of voting for the diaspora and agree to form a working, expert group that will talk about a different way of voting for the diaspora, but not with unsuccessful examples from Europe, let some way be found. This is our principled stance”, the SDSM leader noted.
Filipche considers that even the current Code is completely fine. On the other hand, VMRO-DPMNE leader and PM Mickoski said that that was precisely SDSM’s goal.
“My experience shows that if you want a job not to be finished, form a working group or a commission”, he underlined.
On Monday (July 13), Levica will invite SDSM and DUI to a meeting.
