In Wednesday’s interview with Kanal 5, Ambassador Rokas said the EU’s position regarding North Macedonia’s integration path was very clear.
“It has already adopted a negotiating framework and Council conclusions unanimously, all Member States, in 2022. So, if these commitments are fulfilled, the EU is ready to start negotiating very fast”, he noted.
Regarding the rule of law, he stated that since the latest Criminal Code changes had been put forward by MPs, they hadn’t been assessed by the EC.
“So, these are going to be assessed, but what we need absolutely, and this should be a top priority, is a comprehensive, strong Criminal Code, a new law”, Ambassador Rokas pointed out.
With regards to the issue of transporters, Ambassador Rokas pointed out there was “all the good will” for a solution to be found.
