On Thursday and Friday, the European Council will debate the proposal to introduce qualified majority voting instead of unanimity in decision-making during accession negotiations for candidates.
Ahead of the meeting, Commissioner for Enlargement Kos stated that enlargement would only be possible for countries that had aligned their security policy with the EU. The Western Balkans’ integration path will also be discussed at the EU–Western Balkans Summit to be held in late November in Brussels, which will be attended by PM Mickoski, who will hold a prior meeting with Commissioner Kos.
The PM hasn’t specified whether another meeting with Bulgaria will be held before then.
