In an interview with MINA, Slovenian MEP Tanja Fajon says Germany and Slovenia have created a non-paper that foresees a minimisation of the possibility of vetoing and blockades on the EU path over bilateral issues with neighbouring countries. As she points out, that will speed up the pre-accession process.
“We propose that vetoes and blockades over bilateral issues be minimised and that a qualified majority be used for decision-making in the process,” Fajon stresses for the Montenegrin news agency.
The Slovenian MEP also points out that she remains optimistic that the Western Balkans, with EU support, will have become an integral part of the EU family by the end of the decade.
