On Thursday, Deputy PM for Good Governance Policies Arben Fetai, in his address to the Friends of Europe’s event headlined “EU-Western Balkans Summit: a renewed approach to the region”, said that, according to last information he had, Constitutional Court Judges that were not from the ethnic Macedonian community wouldn’t participate in the 11 December Constitutional Court session where the Law on Use of Languages would be on the agenda.
As he pointed out, though part of the laws in North Macedonia are adopted by so-called double, Badinter majority, on several occasions, the Court put itself in a role to decide on political affairs. The institution, the Deputy PM stressed, has the power to abolish the Law.
“In that regard, we expect difficulties concerning the Law on Languages, which would be challenged in the 80s in the country. We will see what will come out of that now,” Fetai underlined.
