Filipche Dismisses Petrovska from Position of SDSM MP Group Deputy Coordinator

SDSM leader Venko Filipche has decided to remove MP Slavjanka Petrovska from her position as deputy coordinator of the party’s parliamentary group, according to TV24. Filipche reportedly informed lawmakers of the decision during a coordination meeting and instructed parliamentary group coordinator Oliver Spasovski to send an official letter to Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi.

SDSM Vice President Jovana Trencevska is expected to replace Petrovska. Some lawmakers reportedly called for a debate, noting that deputy coordinators are usually appointed by the parliamentary group coordinator. Spasovski was allegedly not consulted.

Petrovska reportedly signed the document but requested an explanation for the decision. The move follows Petrovska’s support for “Platform 12:05”, whose organizers have called for Filipche’s resignation, accusing him of serving the government’s interests and undermining SDSM’s independence.
