Finance Minister Disagrees with Decision Limiting Margins

Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kocoska is against the decision limiting margins, though she supports the unfair trade legislation.

According to her, the decision limiting gross profit margins on around 70 products that are part of the so-called autumn basket is a complex one that will not produce results because state institutions don’t have the capacity to check whether there is compliance with it.

Even though she had presented her stand to cabinet members, the Government adopted the decision.

The Minister believes that there are other ways to fight high prices, such as, for instance, through certain discounts, a decision that was implemented in Hungary when inflation was high. SDSM reacted to her statements.

“We would like to remind Kocoska that she’s no longer a member of the opposition. She holds a ministerial position and runs one of the most important sectors. If she disagrees, she should present a solution. Citizens don’t expect just opinions. They expect solutions in order for prices to be reduced,” the opposition party said.
