The Financial Police Office has filed criminal charges against former Post Director Jani Makraduli on suspicion of abuse of official position and authority.
According to the charges, from 2021 to 2022, he failed to act upon decisions of the Management Board for the payment of liabilities toward two legal entities in the total amount of 19.3 million denars, even though the necessary documentation had been submitted to him.
Due to the non-payment, court proceedings were initiated against the institution, following which judgments established additional liabilities for default interest. The Police Office estimates that such actions caused damage of 10,968,483 denars to the state-owned company.
However, Makraduli has told Telma he is convinced that there is no unlawfulness whatsoever in his actions.
