On Sunday, a fire broke out at a warehouse in the Municipality of Kisela Voda. Thick smoke was visible from multiple parts in the capital. After it had been contained, Skopje Mayor Gjorgjievski said one firefighter had been injured and transferred to the Clinical Center.
“Thank God, there are no casualties”, he said on social media, praising the injured firefighter’s sacrifice.
As the Mayor underlined, modernizing the Firefighting Brigade, procuring new equipment, and improving work conditions remain a priority. Authorities are taking action to determine what caused the fire, after which official information and details are expected to be presented.
