On the occasion of the 100th day of the new government’s term, on Tuesday, PM Hristijan Mickoski said the cabinet had inherited a situation far worse than anybody had expected.
However, as he added, the new cabinet has in its first 100 days carried out, adopted or started over 100 projects, measures, and decisions benefiting citizens.
“The more we know the situation is more burdening than we had expected, the more solid our resolve. We inherited an annual Budget that had been spent and that covered only a six-month period. A country from which the young emigrate, 600,000 people who live only with 150 denars a day, and many other pressing problems. However, that has just gone on to strengthen our engagement and motivation to fix them,” Mickoski stressed.
As he explained, the primary task has been stabilisation of financial flows, closing Budget holes, and dealing with the “deficits and chaos” created by the previous government. Despite different opinions on certain matters, he stated, all coalition partners are united over strategic affairs.
