Funerals of People Killed in Kocani Fire Held

The funeral of 31 of the 59 people killed in the Pulse nightclub fire in Kocani was held on Thursday in Kocani. The funeral ceremony started at noon.

The Head of the Ohrid Archdiocese, Stefan (Stephen), was the one who conducted the service, which was held in line with special protocols. Family members, a big number of friends, and fellow citizens bid farewell. The funeral was covered by both domestic and foreign journalists.

Other people killed in the fire were buried in Skopje, Stip, Probistip, Strumica, and Oblesevo.

In the capital, the funeral of one of the two singers of the DNK band, Andrej Gjorgjieski, was held at the Butel Cemetery, backing vocalist and Music Faculty Professor Sara Projkovska was buried at the Lisice Cemetery, drummer Dzoko Gjorgiev’s funeral was held at the City Cemetery in Strumica, while Aleksandar Kolarov, Aleksandar Efremov, and Filip Stevanovski, also part of the band, were buried at the City Cemetery in Stip.

On Thursday, too, citizens in numerous cities continued to sign condolences books and light candles in memory of the 59 casualties.
