Skopje Appellate Judge Gjoko Ristov’s DNA has been found on the foil with which he wrapped the banknotes before walling them up in the family home of his parents.
That information was shared with journalists by Prosecutor Iskra Hadji Vasileva, who said that during the proceedings, the evidence had further strengthened the thesis of the Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption. She believes it will prove the two crimes with which the Judge has been charged.
The Prosecutor added that the Office had a lot more evidence indicating that the money belonged to Ristov, which he couldn’t justify.
The thesis that the money comes from the sale of property proved to be incorrect as early as at the beginning of the investigation, while, in addition to the 350,000 euros, pieces of paper with the numbers of several court cases written on them were found during the search.
