On Friday, asked about the fight against crime and Additive case, PM Hristijan Mickoski said processes in which crime had been found would not be used for “show business” purposes.
“There’s work on tens of cases at this moment. The country must be developing in the right direction,” he noted.
On the other hand, DUI believes that the government must immediately stop “exploiting the anti-corruption propaganda for party purposes and for the creation of a smokescreen to conceal its failures with regards to European integration and deterioration of interethnic relations”.
Ali Ahmeti’s party also said it was demanding that “an unbiased and all-encompassing vetting process start without delay” that would reveal the source of wealth of politicians and how the privatisation processes in the 1990s had been carried out. Also, during a visit to Gostivar, Ahmeti again called for early parliamentary elections.
However, in response, Mickoski said that would happen only if the opposition defeated the government in the 2025 local polls. Also, he stressed that the world had seen the strategy with regards to DUI’s “criminal rule” during its time as the ruling party.
