Government Appoints New Members of Macedonian-Bulgarian Commission

The Government of North Macedonia appointed at a session held on Tuesday afternoon university professor Vanco Georgiev as the new President of the Macedonian team in the Macedonian-Bulgarian Historical Affairs Commission.

Georgiev will replace Dragi Gjorgiev, who headed the commission over the past period, and his replacement comes after PM Hristijan Mickoski voiced dissatisfaction with his work and the work of some of the members of the Macedonian team.

Vanco Georgiev already was a member of the Macedonian team, but he decided to step down, claiming he faced certain pressures by the previous government.

The government also appointed as new members of the Macedonian team in the Commission professors Aleksandar Litovski, Mitko Panov, Nikola Minov, Saso Dodevski, Besnik Emini and Dimitar Ljorovski.
