Considering the status of independent candidates regarding participation in the local elections still hasn’t been solved, Green Humane City has said it’s forced to form a technical party.
“We’re taking this big step in response to obstacles set on us by parties to prevent independents from running in the elections. In 2021, the trips concerned an increase of the signature threshold to 10,000! In 2024, it was similar, 4,500, but in 2025, they’ve managed to create a legal vacuum that basically prevents us from submitting independent lists for council seats because they’re not voting through changes to the Electoral Code that respect the Constitutional Court’s decision”, the initiative points out.
