Health Minister Klekovski Comments on Several Topics

Health Minister Sasho Klekovski informed that the 13-yeara-old boy that got stabbed in an incident in Chair, Skopje, couple of days ago, is now in stable, but still life-threatening condition.

“My latest information is that the movement of his heart muscles is back, but his life is still in danger”, Klekovski said.

Klekovski also referred the current smallpox vaccination rate among children, concluding that it is unfortunately insufficient.

“At the moment, 62% of children have been vaccinated against smallpox. Bulgaria and Serbia face similar problems, already registering first cases of smallpox. The resistance to vaccination is serious problem and we have to attend to it. I find it baffling that there is greater resistance to vaccines in urban rather than in rural areas”, Klekovski underlined.

He also announced new protocols for treatment of patients with cystic fibrosis, saying that analyses will be conducted to see which patients can receive treatment with Trikafta.
