Hungarian PM Magyar, in an interview with Austrian APA, says that the EU should admit the Western Balkan countries before Ukraine in order to preserve its credibility in the region.
The EU must first fulfill the promises made to countries that have been waiting for membership for years, sacrificed a lot, and accepted numerous obligations, before making new promises to other candidates, he points out.
Regarding the issue of potential EU membership of Ukraine, the Hungarian PM stresses the country is still very far from admission and estimates that it will not happen for at least the next ten years. He reiterates that all candidate countries have to go through the same procedures and meet the same membership conditions.
