Prosecutors in Kumanovo have filed an indictment proposal against the Mayor, Maksim Dimitrievski, who’s also ZNAM leader and presidential candidate.
The proposal concerns abuse of official position, but Dimitrievski’s stand is that he’s been refusing to issue permits for construction of an 11-storey building near a health institution and а school to a person he claims is a sponsor of a ruling party.
In his view, the fact that the proposal was filed just nine days after he’d collected 10,000 signatures to officially enter the presidential race means that it’s about an attempt to politically discredit him before the elections.
“I want to send a message to them. There is neither a power nor a price that can remove me from defending the interests of all citizens,” the ZNAM leader and presidential candidate said on Thursday.
