Initiative to Dismiss Dimitrovska as SCPC President Filed by Levica

Levica’s Parliamentary Group has filed an initiative to dismiss Tatjana Dimitrovska as State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) President. Dimitrovska’s been charged in relation to the Additive case and to the process concerning her security clearance test.

MP Jovana Mojsoska stated on Tuesday that Article 14 of the Corruption Prevention Law explicitly provided for a dismissal if conditions stemming from Article 11 of the same Law no longer applied.

“Article 11 contains the conditions the SCPC President is required to meet to hold that position. Among the conditions in Article 11 is that she mustn’t be issued a prohibition for the performance of profession.

Currently, measures of prohibition for the performance of profession are issued against SCPC President Tatjana Dimitrovska, considering she hasn’t gone to work for two months. It is precisely here that we identify the legal grounds for this case, behind our initiative to the Committee on Election and Appointment Issues”, she noted.

According to Dimitar Apasiev’s party, the existing SCPC legislation protects that institution’s officials too much, that is, Levica believes the possibility of changes in that regard should be considered to increase their accountability and responsibility.

Also on Tuesday, Dimitrovska’s attorney, Stevica Josifovski said he was waiting for the charge. According to Telma, prosecutors have continued to analyse data from Dimitrovska’s phone in relation to the Additive case.

Regarding the security clearance, Dimitrovska has handed it over.

“Following Telma’s report on Monday, the Classified Information Security Directorate notified the SCPC that it was required to act and temporarily revoke the clearance during the judicial procedure related to disclosure of official secrets and abuse with regards to tests in the frames of the classified information systems. The SCPC has acted and now has Dimitrovska’s clearance”, Telma reported on Tuesday.
