The Stip Prosecutor’s Office has ordered investigative proceedings against Mustafa Hajrullahi, Chief of the Skopje Higher Prosecutor’s Office, over the crimes, in continuation, of harassment in the performance of duty and abuse of official position and authorizations.
The harassment charge was first filed before the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and then forwarded for relevant action by prosecutors in Stip. During the investigative activities, the Stip Office obtained data and information indicating suspicions also over abuse of official position. During the criminal procedure, Hajrullahi will be suspended.
However, the Higher Prosecutor denied wrongdoing, describing the proceedings as “yet another attempt” by Chief Public Prosecutor Ljupco Kocevski to pressure both him and Prosecutor Jovan Cvetanovski in the case concerning the bonuses for the now-defunct Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPO).
“I’ve been suspended because I publicly talked about the leak of documents from Kocevski’s Office. I will file an appeal before the Council of Public Prosecutors,” he said.
Last month, the Skopje Higher Prosecutor’s Office’s headfiled a defamation lawsuit against several employees that, based on his claims, had, upon instructions from another prosecutor, falsely claimed they had experienced mobbing.
