Education Minister Vesna Janevska said Wednesday that schools should adjust classes to high temperatures in line with protocols issued by the Education Ministry, but hot weather alone does not automatically mean shorter class periods. The protocols, distributed to all schools, include guidance on ventilating classrooms, opening and closing windows, and organizing activities during periods of extreme heat.
Janevska said physical education classes can be replaced with less strenuous activities when temperatures are high, while schools should adapt to conditions without interrupting the learning process.
Asked whether schools would receive air-conditioning units, she said this would happen when the state is able to provide them for all schools.
