Education Minister Vesna Janevska said that the state is currently facing with a situation in which there is a surplus of teachers in the educational system, because the number of students is reduced as a result of the emigration trends.
“When we make normal classes, not classes of 10 or 15 students, but when we reduce them to 20 students, the redundant teacher will continue to work in the second half of the day according to the schools’ program, which includes many additional subjects, electives subjects, extracurricular activities,” Janevska explained, adding that some of these teachers will also be offered to be transferred either to the Education Development Bureau, the State Educational Inspectorate, the State Examination Centre or the Centre for Secondary Vocational Education and Training.
