Telma has learned that a Judicial Council member has initiated disciplinary proceedings against US-blacklisted Skopje Court of Appeals Judge Enver Bexheti. The next session of the body is expected to see the formation of a commission to decide on the request for unscrupulous action by the Judge.
In November 2023, Bexheti faced action by the Council because he had kept the Target-Fortress process, which concerns last decade’s wiretapping scandal and where еx-Administration for Security and Counterintelligence head Saso Mijalkov was among the defendants, in a drawer for more than nine months.
However, his punishment consisted only of him being paid 80% of his salary over a six-month period. Nonetheless, Council sources told Telma on Thursday that the new initiative concerned another ground.
