The Judicial Council has expressed concern over statements by executive power representatives, saying they directly impact the perception of citizens of the work of it and the judiciary.
“Every attempt to undermine the judicial power’s independence through pressure of any kind and by anybody against Council members and judges poses a direct threat to the independence and democracy of the country, and the rule of law.
In every legal state, the judicial power’s independence is one of the fundamental pillars to guarantee the lawfulness, justice, and protection of citizen rights and freedoms. Judicial Council members and judges have to be freed from any form of pressure and influence in order to decide independently”, the Council said in a press-release on Thursday.
