Judicial Council Responds to Reactions over Academy Board Issue

The Judicial Council has responded to the reactions to the process to nominate members of the Managing Board of the Academy for Judges and Public Prosecutors.

“At the public session held on 24 October, the Council, transparently and accountably, nominated members of the Board from the ranks of judges that are members of the Council,” it said, adding that Article 44 paragraph 4 of the Law on Prevention of Corruption and Conflict of Interest couldn’t be applied in the case in question because Board members were from the ranks of judges and public prosecutors, which, by law, were already previously elected and named officials.
