The Judicial Council has notified Parliament that two years ago, it retired Criminal Court Judge Dobrila Kacarska on the grounds of old-age retirement.
Kacarska is currently a Constitutional Court Judge whose mandate is regulated by the Constitution. However, the Council believed it needed to send the notification to Parliament, the institution that elects Constitutional Court judges.
As Council President Vesna Dameva confirmed for Telma, the notification was sent on 2 July.
“Officially, we’ve notified Parliament that Kacarska, as a Constitutional Court Judge, nominated by the Council, met the legal conditions for retirement according to the changes to the Labour Relations Law,” she said.
According to her, media reports that the Council has requested for Kacarska to be dismissed are false.
