The Government has tasked the Justice Ministry with taking activities to initiate a procedure to dismiss Chief Prosecutor Ljupco Kocevski.
As it explained on Tuesday, the decision has followed the 12-position drop of North Macedonia in the latest global Corruption Perceptions Index, as well as the procedure to appoint a new Chief of the Skopje Higher Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office, Natasa Krstevska Caleva.
However, Kocevski told Sitel that the Government didn’t have sufficient information about the decision and that his actions were according to the law. As he explained, it’s not about appointing an Acting Higher Public Prosecutor, but rather about designating a temporary head of the Skopje Higher Office.
