Karpos Mayoral Candidate Levels Fierce Accusations

Stevco Jakimovski, the Experience for Success-endorsed candidate in the Karpos mayoral race, levelled fierce accusations at VMRO-DPMNE, saying it had “stolen” Karpos.

“The entire government got together, the biggest oligarchs who are worth over one billion, with the Health Fund, doctors without dignity, on the oligarch’s payroll. You bought Romani votes, bought Albanian votes in Nerezi, but there, you paid a much higher price! Because the Romani souls are cheaper, to you, of course. You involved all drug dealers that were for an entire month feeding the consumers of white powder. You paid the debts at the betting shops of all those that live off betting.

Only and only so that they vote for [PM and VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan] Mickoski’s shadow [, Sotir Lukrovski]. You were paying 50 euros to take away the ID of voters who would vote for me”, he noted, alleging that there had also been many other irregularities, including ones related to the so-called Bulgarian train mechanism and media ones.

In the second round of the local elections, Jakimovski was defeated by Lukrovski, but the results in the Karposh mayoral race are not final due to processes related to objections before the State Election Commission (SEC) and potentially before the Administrative Court.
