Kocani Fire: Government to Dismiss Selami and Saliu

The Government has confirmed for Kanal 5 that it will dismiss Xhevat Selami, Director of the Protection and Rescue Directorate, and Minister without Portfolio Shaban Saliu, both of whom are suspects in the Kocani fire case (the latter in the capacity of ex-head of the Directorate).

“As the Government, we’re fully committed to a thorough investigation and, in that regard, we’re considering all procedures and rules at our disposal. In the interest of the procedure, we inform you that once PM Hristijan Mickoski returns from his official visit to the United Arab Emirates, the persons covered by the investigation will be dismissed”, it said on Monday.

It’s not known what type of measure has been issued against Selami, whereas Saliu has been given a detention one.
