The expertise process concerning the Kocani fire has been carried out. Nonetheless, the Criminal Court in Skopje still hasn’t adopted the assessment of the bill of indictment, Prosecutor-General Ljupco Kocevski has said.
His Office is also thinking whether a decision will be made also on the issue of competence, that is, whether the appeals will be filed to the Court in the capital. In the process, 34 physical persons and three legal entities are covered. When it comes to the matter of the police officers covered in other procedures, the investigation is still underway.
Considering there have still been no detention measures, according to Kocevski, the charge is supposed to have been completed by September.
According to the KOD (CODE) show, broadcast on Telma, the facility where the Pulse nightclub in Kocani was located had been reutilized into a hospitality venue through a reconstruction process carried out without a construction permit. Adaptation activities were unlawful, that is, materials not meeting fire-fighting protection standards were used, additionally increasing risks on nightclub goer safety.
