Kocevski Comments on Illegal Structures Issue, Kocani Charge, and Rule of Law Report

Prosecutor-General Ljupco Kocevski is adamant that there is action in several cases related to illegal structures not only in Skopje, but also throughout the country.

However, answering journalists’ questions on Wednesday, he didn’t reveal concrete figures. Regarding reports and charges filed by Skopje Mayor Danela Arsovska and her calls for prosecutors to check documentation on structures in Cair, Kocevski that that evidence was being secured and that a prosecutorial decision would be made after that.

Regarding the charge in the Kocani fire case, the Prosecutor-General expects it to be approved.

“We’re now waiting for the bill of indictment to be approved. That’s one case. When it comes to the other, I hope the investigation into the police officers covered by the case will end at the start of September”, he noted.

Regarding the 2025 Rule of Law Report, the Prosecutor-General stated that it painted an objective picture of the situation. However, he also said no politician had exerted influence on him regarding cases.
