Kocevski: Order to Arrest Another Seven Police Officers in Kocani Fire Case Issued

On Tuesday, Prosecutor-General Ljupco Kocevski said an order had been issued to arrest another seven police officers over the Kocani fire who would the following day be taken before a judge in the previous procedure. He didn’t rule out the possibility of other officers being detained during the investigation either.

“In the frames of a pre-investigative procedure, the Interior Ministry is taking action on the ground related to securing police officers. A criminal charge has been filed before the Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organised Crime and Corruption. More information tomorrow”, the institution said.

Also, Ministry sources told 24 TV that the Commander of the Kocani Police Station, who had held the position when the fire had taken place and been among the officers dismissed following the tragedy, was among the seven people detained.
