There will be no prolongation with regards to the Kocani fire investigation, Prosecutor-General Ljupco Kocevski has said. As he explained on Thursday, a public-prosecutorial decision may be expected in June.
The team of prosecutors is analysing evidence and getting statements from witnesses and eyewitnesses in both Kocani and Skopje. Kocevski stated that there were no pressures on him and that activities were unselective.
“Currently, there are public prosecutors working in both Kocani and Skopje. So, according to the dynamism of their work, I think there will be no problem with the procedure being completed within the foreseen deadline. There’s been no selectiveness whatsoever so far. There will not be selectiveness in the future either. As I’ve already said, an expansion of the investigation is possible until it ends, but that depends on evidence and on what public prosecutors will secure”, the Prosecutor-General stressed.
