Kocevski: There’s No Leak of Information from PPO

The Chief Public Prosecutor Ljupco Kocevski said in an interview for Radio Free Europe that he guarantees that no information in relation to major cases of criminal activities has leaked from the Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) in order to allow suspects to become unavailable for the organs of justice.

“In relation to the police actions for arrest of members of criminal gangs in Skopje, even though we had a situation in which two days before the planned action took place the suspected were tipped about it, I can assure you that such information cannot leak from PPO. We are taking steps and conducting thorough investigation in order to find out who and how tipped the perpetrators about the action”, Kocevski said.

Speaking about the Lottery case, Kocevski said that at the moment PPO has no information of the whereabouts of Artan Grubi, former First Deputy PM, who is one of the suspects in this case.

Asked why PPO did not request measures against former PM Dimitar Kovacevski over the Additive case, Kocevski said that the prosecutor processing this case determined that at the moment there is not enough evidence for measures against him, but that the criminal charges filed against him still remain active.
