During Thursday’s Kochani fire hearing, the Criminal Court decided not to merge the ongoing trial with the new indictment bill covering 13 police officers. As it explained, if that is done, it would cause a delay with regards to all procedures.
Attorney Petre Shilegov, who represents defendant Shefket Hazari, however, said the Court had made the decision without conducting insight into the evidence in the other cases. However, the Court explained it hadn’t conducted direct insight, i.e. it had made the decision after phone conversations with the departments to get informed about how far along the procedures were.
Thursday also saw the testimony of young people who were at the nightclub on March 16, 2025. They pointed to the accused people who were working security that night, saying they had helped them.
