Monday’s hearing in the frames of the Kochani fire trial was interrupted due to the worsened health condition of Pulse’s owner, defendant Dejan Jovanov. After his defense had requested for the detention measure to be replaced with house arrest, he fell sick. An Emergency Medical Service team was called.
The defendant’s attorney, Ivana Kocevska, said Jovanov had recently undergone a second surgical intervention due to an infection, adding that he’d been brought to the hearing in an extremely difficult condition.
“Today, in the most inhumane way, he was brought directly from the hospital to the trial, even though, in such a condition, he should be hospitalized. His wound is open and susceptible to infection”, she noted.
However, Judge Dijana Gruevska Ilievska, said the Court was aware of the health condition and that after the intervention of the medical team, it had been concluded that the defendant could follow the hearing.
