In the legal process regarding the Kochani fire, the statutory deadline after which the owner of Pulse, Dejan Jovanov, and other defendants can no longer be held in detention expires on 3 October.
At Monday’s hearing, Jovanov’s defense attorney, Ivana Kocevska, said she would submit a bail guarantee ensuring that her client would attend future hearings. Also, she requested that the Criminal Court issue written permission for a visit by a notary to certify the consent that will form part of the bail guarantee.
She described public reports as pressure to find grounds for renewed detention at all costs. That, according to her, is in violation of her client’s rights. Kocevska also responded to statements by Prosecutor General Saveski, who said that possibilities for extending the measure were being examined.
