Tea Gjorgieva was the only witness testified at Wednesday’s hearing in the trial over the Kochani fire.
For several hearings now, barely one or two witnesses have testified, while there was also a blockade by the defense, which did not allow the Prosecutor’s Office to withdraw the remaining witnesses, whose statements were repetitive, for economic reasons. That resulted in a lower number of parents of those killed in the fire being present.
They expressed revolt, saying they were exposed to travel costs to Skopje only to watch an increasingly slow pace of the trial. At the next hearing, the autopsy reports on the 63 people that were killed in the fire are scheduled to be read.
