European Commissioner for Enlargement Kos has said that her vision is for the entire Western Balkans to become part of the EU one day. She made the statement on Thursday in Sofia, where she is participating in the International Ministerial Conference on Corridor 8.
The Commissioner emphasized that the Western Balkans played a crucial role in connecting Europe. More than 130 projects, she noted, are currently underway in the region for the construction of roads and railways, as well as the improvement of border crossings.
According to the Enlargement Commissioner, once all Western Balkan countries join the EU, the border crossings and transport links currently in focus will take on a different significance, as the region will become part of “one Europe working together”.
