Laskarci Case: Court Increases Sentence of Part of Persons Convicted

The Skopje Court of Appeals has accepted the Prosecutor’s Office’s appeal and increased the sentences of part of those convicted in the case concerning the Laskarci crash, which happened on 13 February 2019 and in which 16 passengers were killed and more than 30 were severely injured.

On Thursday, Durmo Tours owner Durmish Beluli’s prison sentence was increased from four to 10 years, Remzi Miftari, the person in charge of transport, saw his six-year sentence increased to 10 years behind bars as well, while the sentence of the employees at the technical examination station was increased from five to seven years for each.

When it comes to the driver, Manoil Trifunoski, his sentence of 14 years in prison was confirmed.
